EU HYDEF Consortium Advances Towards Key Milestones in 2025

On April 23rd, 2025, the HYDEF Consortium successfully held the Third Progress Review Meeting (PRM3) and General Assembly (GA) at GMV facilities in Tres Cantos, Spain. GMV is responsible for GNSS and Boost and mid-course navigation SW and algorithms work packages, as well as for the definition of the guidance algorithms and trajectory definition before the launch. The meeting was coordinated by SMS, which leads the industrial team responsible for the project.

The Third Progress Review Meeting, chaired by OCCAR HYDEF PM, provided a key opportunity for the Project Coordinator, SMS, to present the latest status of the project and assess the advancements achieved since the previous review. The discussions confirmed the alignment with project objectives and strategic milestones.

With steady progress across all workstreams, the HYDEF project remained firmly on track, preparing for significant upcoming events, including the Core Stakeholder Workshop (CSW) and the Concept Selection Meeting (CSM) milestone. These events will further consolidate the project’s advancements as it moves towards defining a solid Concept of the System before summer 2025.

The “European Hypersonic Defence Interceptor” (EU HYDEF) is a project co-funded by the European Union, under the European Defence Fund, and Belgium, Germany, Norway, Poland and Spain. OCCAR has been entrusted the management of the EU HYDEF project by the European Commission (EC) and the Participating States.
